Youth represent a substantial part of the membership of Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through the Red Cross Youth Programme. The mission of the Indian Red Cross is to inspire, encourage and initiate all forms of humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimized thereby creating a more congenial climate for peace. The youth units aim to have the active involvement of the young people in addressing the needs of the most vulnerable. It has a few objectives directed at leading students towards the understanding and acceptance of civic responsibilities, promoting humanitarian concern, to inculcate the spirit of service and sense of duty with dedication and devotion and also fostering friendly relationships with all without any discrimination.
